LGBTQ+ Elder Advocate
Position: LGBTQ+ Elder Advocate
Supervised by: Program Director
Hours: 20 hours per week, Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 – 5:00pm with some flexibility for special events or other things as needed. OutReach LGBTQ+ Community Center is open to the public Monday – Friday, 12:00 – 6:00pm.
Classification: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
The LGBTQ+ Elder Advocate offers peer support and information and referral to LGBTQ+ adults over age 50, with a focus on accessing LGBTQ+ affirming businesses and service providers. The LGBTQ+ Elder Advocate is also responsible for coordinating with and overseeing the activities of the LGBTQ 50+ Alliance, a joint program of OutReach and the Madison Senior Center. This position is also responsible for attending coalition meetings for older adult-serving agencies, providing training and educational workshops on the LGBTQ+ community and LGBTQ+ elders, and other duties.
Essential Duties:

Compassionately provide peer support and advocacy for LGBTQ+ community members with a focus on LGBTQ+ elders (those over age 50).

Plan, prepare, and facilitate educational workshops on LGBTQ+ cultural sensitivity/humility and creating inclusive and affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ elders.

Serve as OutReach’s liaison to the LGBTQ 50+ Alliance and provide administrative and other support to the LGBTQ 50+ Alliance Steering Committee.

Attend required meetings for OutReach staff, the LGBTQ 50+ Alliance Steering Committee, and other workgroups/coalitions.

Collaborate with local, state, and national groups providing services to LGBTQ+ elders.
-
Maintain detailed records of program expenses, client contacts, and other items needed to prepared impact reports for OutReach’s board and external agencies.

Identify opportunities and attend conferences, meetings, or resource fairs to share information and resources about the LGBTQ+ community, especially LGBTQ+ elders.

Assist in the planning and day-of coordination of special events and programs organized by OutReach such as the Magic Pride Festival.

Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements:

College degree in social work or related field required.

Prior professional, personal, or lived experience providing supportive services to LGBTQ+ community members required, prior experience working with elders/older adults strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professional and personal boundaries and mindfulness of power dynamics and personal biases.

Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft 365.

The employee will also walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements including close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Work Environment: This employee will work in a professional office environment, which requires use of standard office equipment like computers, phones, copiers/printers, and filing cabinets. This employee may also work outside in variable weather conditions as part of community outreach activities and be exposed to a variety of conditions, including light and noise levels, at client sites.

Grants Manager
Position: Grants Manager
Supervised by: Executive Director
Hours: 40 hours per week. Majority of hours must occur during OutReach LGBTQ+ Community Center’s business hours of 12:00 – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday.
Classification: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
The Grants Manager is an integral part of OutReach’s administrative team, providing assistance to the Internal Account, Executive Director, and External Accountants in administering grant funding, developing and ensuring compliance with grant budgets, and providing other administrative and financial support as needed.

Position Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
• Manage grant budget and compliance tracking of income and expenses for a variety of projects and programs with funding from federal, state, and local governments, private foundations, and other funding sources.
• Track grant reporting requirements as defined by grant contracts and ensure timely submission of grant compliance reports in collaboration with Executive Director, Program Director, Internal Accountant, External Accountant, and program staff.
• Manage a centralized database of OutReach’s current grants and coordinate reporting deadlines to insure grant compliance requirements are met.
• Prepare financial reports on grant progress, funding status, and other topics as required.
• Assist Internal Accountant and External Accountant with budgeting and bookkeeping functions related to grant and budget management.
• Work with Executive Director, program staff, and grant writing consultant as needed to prepare grant applications, with a focus on budgeting.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and audit compliance pertaining to grants.
• Participate in staff meetings and work with the OutReach team to manage our community center.
• Assist in the planning and day-of coordination of special events and programs organized by OutReach such as the Magic Pride Festival.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• 1+ year of experience in financial administration, grant management, or another closely related field required.
• Highly organized and able to track and manage deadlines and other internal processes within a team of collaborators.
• Familiarity with software such as Grant Seeker and QuickBooks preferred.
• Experience with administering federal funding preferred.
• Experience engaging with a diverse population, including people of color and LGBTQ+ people, and strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professional and personal boundaries and mindfulness of power dynamics and personal biases.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft 365.
